Here are some highlights from my recent trip to Banff National Park:

Day 1: Arrival and Check-in
After a long flight, I arrived in Calgary and rented a car to drive to Banff National Park. The drive took about 1.5 hours, and the scenery along the way was stunning. I checked into my hotel, the Fairmont Banff Springs, which is a beautiful castle-like hotel nestled in the heart of Banff National Park. After settling in, I went for a walk around the town of Banff and checked out some of the local shops and restaurants.

Day 2: Lake Louise
I woke up early and drove to Lake Louise, which is about a 45-minute drive from Banff. Lake Louise is one of the most famous attractions in Banff National Park, and it’s easy to see why – the lake is a vibrant blue-green color, and it’s surrounded by snow-capped mountains. I hiked the Lake Agnes Tea House Trail, which is a 3.5-mile round trip hike that takes you to a quaint tea house with incredible views of the lake.

Day 3: Johnston Canyon
On my third day in Banff National Park, I hiked the Johnston Canyon Trail. The trail is a 3.1-mile round trip hike that takes you through a canyon with several waterfalls. The trail was fairly easy, and the waterfalls were stunning. After the hike, I went to the Banff Upper Hot Springs, which is a natural hot spring pool that’s open year-round.

Day 4: Bow Valley Parkway and Wildlife
On my fourth day in Banff National Park, I drove along the Bow Valley Parkway, which is a scenic road that runs parallel to the Trans-Canada Highway. Along the way, I saw several types of wildlife, including elk, moose, and bighorn sheep. I stopped at several lookout points along the way to take in the scenery.

Day 5: Moraine Lake
On my final day in Banff National Park, I visited Moraine Lake. Like Lake Louise, Moraine Lake is a stunning turquoise color and surrounded by mountains. I hiked the Rockpile Trail, which is a short hike that takes you to a viewpoint with incredible views of the lake and the mountains.
